I was very apprehensive before attending my first yoga class- I couldn’t even touch my toes. However, there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Val is so warm and approachable and her teaching is clear and easy to follow. Val discusses any worries or limitations you have and during class is particularly attentive of these, aiding and adjusting as you progress. I always feel very relaxed after her classes and taking part has made a big improvement to my physical and mental wellbeing. Following chronic back pain and subsequent surgery, Val has supported and encouraged my recovery by suggesting ways to adjust my practice to gain maximum benefit from my time on the mat and also to do this safely. I have found her input more beneficial than any physio therapy that I have had previously. I really look forward to and enjoy being part of Val’s classes and taking that small part out of the day for myself. Rachael Joy
Yoga brings to me a feeling of wellbeing and achievement. It makes me feel more relaxed and able to cope with life's little challenges. It really reduces stress for me, makes me feel good and more calm. I always sleep really well after a yoga class! I attended my first ever yoga class with Val about two years ago and have been practicing ever since! Val is an excellent yoga teacher. She is a very enthusiastic, encouraging and supportive teacher and instills confidence in my ability to practice yoga. Val has a very gentle approach giving clear instructions on how to achieve each yoga pose and information on how each pose benefits the body. I thoroughly enjoy each class. Ann
I've been doing yoga with Val for around 3 years now. My joints don't ache now, my flexibility has improved and l always have the best sleep after a yoga session. Classes are tailored to ability of the students and varied to focus on different areas of the body and the different seasons. Val's Yin workshops are 2 hours of complete bliss. I wasn't sure how the Zoom classes would work during lockdown but they actually work really well, Val is mindful she's not actually in the room with you and takes time to really explain positioning, breathing etc. Lockdown was tough on everyone but our online yoga classes definitely helped me get through physically and mentally x
Val has been my Yoga teacher for coming on 20 years, we have been on a great journey together. Her teachings over the years have just got better and better, from a simple yoga class to a workshop, the experience has been amazing. I have experienced local weekend retreats and week retreats in Spain with Val which have been very well organised and very fulfilling. Yoga is like my reset button. No matter how frazzled I go in I come out feeling calm and relaxed. Val has such a good way of explaining the positions and altering you ever so slightly to give you the best out of your practice, physically and mentally.
